Phase 3 strips air of odors and low-level gases with activated carbon. Phase 4 sends air through a HEPA filter that removes allergens, smoke particles and other pollutants. In the final phase, the air passes through UV light that kills bacteria and viruses. Infrared motion sensors control speed to reduce operating costs when rooms are unoccupied.
